Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) is a free rehabilitation treatment program for Medicaid recipients who struggle with their mental health. The program is very similar to a mentorship and is based on the recovery and person-centered models of rehabilitation.

Through PRP, both children and adults are provided with the resources and support to reach a higher level of independence, success, and fulfillment in their lives. The services offered are valued at $1,000, but are complimentary for Medicaid clients.

By participating in the program, participants are provided with:

• A life coach/mentor to help guide them
• Skills and support to embrace their mental wellness
• Tools to enhance the quality of their life
• Encouragement and guidance to pursue personally valued roles in their living, learning, work and social environments

The purpose of the program is to:

• Promote recovery and resiliency
• Empower the individual so that they may function successfully and live as independently as possible in their community

All PRP participants will receive high-quality, person-centered services tailored to their individual needs. With the support of their mentor, participants will live successfully in their community equipped with the tools and resources to address living, working, mental, emotional and social functioning.

As a result of having an increased access to mental health care services and support, it is our hope that all participants will have a reduced use of more intensive interventions.

PLEASE NOTE: Children  automatically qualify for the program. Referrals will be provided by one of our clinicians, if needed. Referrals from a provider outside of Lartey Wellness Group are also accepted.

1. Referral from a licensed mental health professional
2. Active Maryland Medicaid health insurance

3. A qualifying diagnosis that meets the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for a Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS) in the Priority Population (either Category A or Category B).

PLEASE NOTE: Since children automatically qualify for the program, they are NOT required to have a specific diagnosis. However, adults must have one of the below diagnoses to be eligible for the program.   

If you are unsure whether you have a qualifying diagnosis, our psychiatric nurse practitioner can conduct a psychiatric assessment to ascertain an official diagnosis.

• Bipolar I Disorder, Current or Most Recent Episode Depressed, Severe, w/ Psychotic Features
• Other Specified Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorder
• Unspecified Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorder
  Delusional Disorder
